Teaching Philosophy
MacPhail’s early childhood music classes provide an exciting and creative beginning to a lifelong journey of musical learning and participation. Our classes explore musical concepts through MacPhail’s integrated arts format (songs, instrument exploration, rhymes, creative movement and dramatics, literature, visual art and sensory exploration). Children gain musical knowledge and skills such as vocal development, rhythmic awareness, pitch and tempo discrimination, and musical form which prepare them for future musical study in the Suzuki Talent Educaion Program, group and individual instruction.
