As a young child, my parents enrolled me in Musical Trolley at MacPhail and I fell in LOVE with music!  Now, as an adult and a music educator myself, I feel that it is an important part of my child’s childhood to take classes there too.  Our daughter has taken two early childhood classes and has loved them both.  My husband (also a music educator) and I are so impressed with the quality of the classes each week, the emphasis on singing, the gentleness and knowledge of the instructors, and the fun that is had every week!  We have had three teachers and each one has been above and beyond our expectations. Children learn through music and they play through music.  I can’t think of a better place for my children to learn to love music and to play!

Both of my sons have taken Musical Trolley and my older son has taken Musical World and now takes piano lessons at MacPhail.  There’s a funny story behind how we found MacPhail!  My husband worked with a gentleman who told him that the first thing he tells every expecting family he knows is:  enroll your kids in MacPhail, especially the Musical Trolley class.  We did and we’ve been nothing but pleased.

My kids don’t always sing willingly but now I sometimes hear Henry in the other room singing to his trains.  He’s retained musical concepts he learned in Trolley and will say something like, “That’s a pattern-like a rondo!”
           
We don’t expect our kids to be professional musicians but everyone needs to have a musical alphabet.  We want our kids to be able to enjoy music at a greater depth.  We want them to know that it takes some effort to be good at something but music is something that can give you so much happiness.
