Chamber Music Workshop with The City of Tomorrow
The City of Tomorrow is the only wind quintet to win a gold medal a the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 10 years. They are advocates for the quality and expansion of wind quintet repertoire and performance. The quintet has performed across the Midwest and serve as an advisory ensemble to orchestration and composition students at Northwestern University.
Opera Master Class with Audrey Stottler
A unique opportunity for adult singers, whether an audience member or a participant in the class, to experience first hand the teaching of international soprano and MacPhail teaching artist Audrey Stottler.
Guitar Transcribing Workshop with Jeff Lambert
During the workshop, Jeff will demonstrate the process of transcribing from an audio recording.
Jeff Lambert is a highly esteemed guitarist and composer, who brings 15 plus years of teaching experience to MacPhail. An accomplished musician, Jeff has performed in as many as 30 states and Canada, winning guitar competitions in both Minneapolis and Chicago. One of his primary interests is working with composers to present to new works, and he has been commissioned to write and premier several new pieces.
Piano Master Class with Elizabeth Wolff
Ms. Wolff has developed a large following both as a chamber musician and as a soloist. Her commitment to teaching is demonstrated through the broad range of her educational activities. Ms. Wolff's affinity for and love of the piano works of Rachmaninoff have garnered special notice as guest soloist, conducting master classes and performing at the renowned Rachmaninoff Institute in Tambov, Russia.
Ms. Wolff will give a short performance of the Rachmaninoff Etude Tableaux followed by the master class.
Violin Master Class with Joseph Silverstein
Joseph Silverstein is known to millions as the concertmaster of the Boston Symphony, a position he held for some 22 years. He has earned international praise as both conductor and violinist. He has appeared with hundreds of orchestras in the United States, Europe, Israel and Japan. Mr. Silverstein is currently a member of the string faculty of the Curtis Institute.
Robert Dorer Brass Workshop
Minnesota Orchestra trumpeter Robert Dorer will work with a variety of pre-selected brass students demonstrating how to enhance musicianship. All wind instrument students are encouraged to attend and welcome to bring their instrument.
Voice Master Class with John Keys
Tenor John Keyes has performed with the Florentine Opera, Skylight Opera and the Milwaukee Opera. He has also recorded the rold of Redrigo in Verdi's "Otello" with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and made his European debut with the Scottish National Opera.

The Musical Path to Technique: Design of the Heart Integrating Music and Technique in Practicing and Performing - a Performance Power Marathon Seminar for all Instrumentalists.
In this workshop, students will observe the actual process of practicing as musicians and trying out new strategies to attach their musical imagination to their technique. Mr. Kaplan will also demonstrate a new way of conceiving and processing musical notation, and specific ways to increase the control of your fingers, breath and articulation to coordinate at faster tempos, play more in tune and communicate more effectively. Mr. Kaplan is on the faculty at Manhattan School of Music and New York University.
Drum Workshop with Mike Arturi
Mike Arturi is the drummer for Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, The Loving Spoonful. At this workshop, Mr. Arturi will play, offer tips to rock and pop drum students, talk about his 46 year career in the music business and discuss careers in music for rock and pop musicians. Drummers and students of ALL instruments are welcome to attend.
Keyboard Master Class with Daniel Rieppel
Daniel Rieppel has worked with members of the Minnesota Orchestra and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. He is a founding member of the Schubert Trio. In the Midwest he ha appeared as a soloist with numerous ensembles, and he has performed widely in the U.S., Latin America and Europe.
Violin/Viola Master Class with Nobuko Imai
Nobuko Imai is considered to be one of the most outstanding violists of our time.
