Q. Why should I bring my child who is only six weeks old to a music class? What will they get out of it at that young of an age?
A. Children respond to music at a very young age. Studies have shown that exposure to music at an early age increases brain development, which can lead to an overall improvement in cognitive functions beginning from birth throughout childhood. Also, music activities in group settings help children of all ages develop social and interactive skills by sharing the activity with other children around them. Our Early Childhood Music classes are a great way to bond with your baby, learn songs and games and connect with other parents.
Q. Is MacPhail only for serious music students?
A. No. Our students have musical interests at all levels. We have young beginners playing their first notes, teens joining a rock band and adults taking time just for themselves. While we do support conservatory-bound students and pre-professional musicians, the one thing all MacPhail students share is a love of music. We take the time to find out what you want your musical experience to be, then match the teacher that fits your style.
