Trudi Anderson, Flute

Trudi Anderson teaches flute at MacPhail Center for Music, Augsburg College and Bethel University. She has held similar positions at the College of St. Benedict, Crown College and the College of St Catherine. Her students have won a variety of competitions and several are currently pursuing careers as professional flautists.
In addition to being an active free-lance musician, Ms. Anderson performs regularly as soloist and chamber musician on recitals in collaboration with faculty colleagues and friends. She has played with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Hugh Wolff, Bobby McFerrin, Pinkas Zukerman and Nicholas McGegan. Formerly, she held the position of Principal Flute in the Orquesta Filarmonica de Merida (Venezuela).
She is currently a member of the National Flute Association and the Upper Midwest Flute Association, having served on the Executive Board as Treasurer for the latter organization. She is frequently asked to be a clinician at schools and camps or to act as an adjudicator for regional music competitions and organizations such as The Schubert Club, Thursday Musical, Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, and the Upper Midwest Flute Association.
Ms. Anderson received the M.M. degree in flute performance from Northwestern University where she studied with Walfrid Kujala. She has also studied with Sam Baron, Jeanne Baxtresser, Julia Bogorad-Kogan and Mary Roberts Wilson.
