NIna Olsen received her Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance from the University of Denver; a Master of Music in woodwinds, clarinet specialist, from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Musical Arts in clarinet performance from the University of Minnesota. Nina is a member of the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, performs regularly with Thursday Musical and freelances in the Twin Cities area. Olsen is chair of the Wind, Brass and Percussion department at MacPhail, where she teaches primarily clarinet and some saxophone. She is currently Senior Lecturer of Clarinet at Carleton College and has taught at St. Cloud State University and St. Olaf College.

Shelby Hostager
Shelby is a Sophmore at Eagan HS, and will (hopefully) be in Wind Ensemble for the first time this year. She has performed on one MacPhail recital, and will be auditioning for all-state band this year. When she's not playing the clarinet, Shelby likes writing poetry and novels and is an avid reader. Her favorite books are: The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Vampire Lestat, Damian, and The Glass Bead Game.
