New Building Q & A
Q When is MacPhail moving?
A The last day of classes at the old building will be 12/20/07. The first day in the new building will be 1/7/08.
Q Where is the new building?
A The building is located on the corner of South 2nd Street and 5th Avenue South in the Historic Mills District of Minneapolis. The address is 501 2nd Street S, Minneapolis, MN 55401.
The website and phone number remain the same.
Q Where will my class/lesson be in the new building?
A Information will be available in the following forms:
• In December, your teacher will give you a flyer with your room assignment.
• Information will be posted on the website: macphail.org.
• Maps will be available at the front desks at both the old and new buildings.
• Sundays in December the New MacPhail building will be open for students and parents to get acquainted with the new building. Check the website this fall for more information.
• Grand Opening Celebrations will be held the week of January 5, 2008. Check the website for more information.
• Call 612.321.0100 and ask student services for your new room number.
Q Where do I park?
A There will be a student drop-off location on 5th Avenue. Parking is available in two adjacent ramps plus there is additional parking in the area at meters and other parking lots.
Q Will tuition go up in the new building?
A Because of the positive support MacPhail has received from the community, any increases to tuition will be incremental.
Q Will the new building have air-conditioning?
A YES. The new building will have central air-conditioning and humidity control.
Q What new and interesting things can I expect in the new building?
A • Comfortable common areas with access to wireless internet connections
• Indoor and outdoor performance spaces
• A flexible performance space that can accommodate up to 225 audience members
• State of the art recording and audio equipment in all the performance spaces
• Additional audio systems will enable performances to be heard in the lobby and outdoors
• Every instructional space will be equipped with a computer and high-speed internet access
