MacPhail Demographics

MacPhail Center for Music reaches 16,000 people annually.  Of the 16,000 students, 9,700 of those students are served in 104 partner locations, where we bring music learning to those who wouldn’t otherwise have access to this high quality experience. The other 6,500 students are “registration-based” students who take classes and lessons at one of MacPhail’s five onsite locations or live online. The following data shows the demographic breakdown for both our partnership and registration-based students.

PARTNERSHIP STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS

REGISTRATION-BASED STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • 6,500 students reached
  • 25% racially diverse
  • 65% youth, 35% adults
  • 91% have bachelor’s or higher. Of those, 67% hold a master or doctorate degree.
    • (This compares to 35% of general population with college degree and 11% holding a graduate degree in the Mpls/St. Paul area.)
  • 75% earn $75K or more. Of those, 20% earn $150K or more. 26% earn $200K or more.
