Composition Workshop with Bakken Ensemble Members

In this collaborative composition workshop, student composers will have the unique opportunity to write for esteemed members of the Bakken Ensemble, Stephanie Arado and Pitnarry Shin.

The featured artists will rehearse, workshop, and perform students’ original works. Participants will explore idiomatic string writing, notation, texture, and effective collaboration. Feedback from both performers and instructor will give students the invaluable experience of hearing their music brought to life by professional musicians.

The workshop culminates in a performance of the students’ works at the Composition Recital on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 7:30pm in MacPhail’s Antonello Hall.
