Unwrapping Music – ONLINE: Music and Sensuality

Register Now
Throughout history, music has been branded as dangerously suggestive – but some of the elements that once were viewed as overtly erotic are now considered almost prim without the historical context of the original composition as a framework. In this class we will take a look at the way that composers in different genres – from Palestrina to K-pop – attempted to portray sensuality, how effective they were (or weren’t), and how changing mores have altered the way we listen to some of these once scandalous pieces.
