Allison Cregg, violin/viola instructor, has worked with hundreds of students of all levels, ages and backgrounds. Allison holds a master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Texas. As a professional violinist, Allison has served in the violin sections of many orchestras across North America, recently completing a two year full time contract with the Victoria Symphony, BC. She has played as an extra with the Minnesota Orchestra and will be joining the Minnesota Opera as an extra for much of the 2014-15 season.
Along with private lesson teaching experience, she has had the opportunity to teach as practice and sectional string coach at nationally renowned high school programs including Interlochen Arts Camp and the Brevard Music Center. She has also worked with youth symphonies and elementary, middle school and high school string classrooms across North America. Beyond classical music Allison has specialized in instructing young fiddle ensembles. Most notably, she served as artistic director of the Saline Fiddlers ReStrung, now the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic.
