Sing Play Learn with MacPhail®

Cheryl Henningsgaard has taught in the Sing Play Learn with MacPhail® program at MacPhail since 2000. Cheryl teaches students ages 0-12 in Sing, Play, Learn with MacPhail®, Community Partnerships, and Online School Partnerships. As an early childhood music specialist and music therapist, she believes music learning is inclusive! Music connects and enhances learning in all areas of child development. Music builds relationships, learning, and fun!

As a Board Certified Music Therapist and Early Childhood Educator, Cheryl was featured on MPR, is an online faculty member and curriculum specialist for Pre-K and Kindergarten and Norwegian Language Preschool Programs. Cheryl is the originator of “Ukulele and More”, the Musical Storytelling Curriculum and MELSA Musical Storytelling Blog. She also mentors, presents, and consults on early childhood music education.

Her education includes a Master of Science in Child and Family Studies (0-8 licensure in ECSE and Pre-Kindergarten) from St Cloud State University and Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Cheryl attends the University of St. Thomas for continuing Graduate Studies in Music Education, completing Orff Levels I and II. Cheryl was a Rotary Student to Denmark, and specializes in Scandinavian Music.
