Daniel Abdon came to MacPhail in 1998 as an assistant teacher in Musical Trolley and Musical World. He began teaching full-time as a teacher in the Sing Play Learn with MacPhail® and also taught Piano for Children until 2003. Since that time, Daniel has been a class teacher at the Spring Hill Waldorf School in Excelsior, Minn. He has also continued to teach part-time at MacPhail, currently teaching Musical Adventures for first and second graders on Wednesday evenings, at the downtown location, as well as Musical World summer camps at the Minnesota Zoo. He tries to keep all his Sing Play Learn with MacPhail® classes fun and playful, but has a soft spot for the Musical Make-Believe classes for three year-olds.
Daniel is a vocalist and plays piano and recorder. Since 2005, he has had a traveling piano studio, called From the Heart Music Services, for beginning and intermediate students. He also travels around the world performing with S.T.A.R.S, “Singers Taking Action Reaching Souls.”
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Webster University’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis, and completed Orff Level I from the University of St. Thomas.
