Grant Sharstrom has been teaching in the guitar (acoustic and electric) and voice departments of MacPhail—Austin since 2019. He has taught individual lessons for over four years on both guitar and voice, and is currently the choir teacher at Ellis Middle School and IJ Holton in Austin.

Grant believes that all types of music are valuable and strives to teach the student as a whole. He promotes healthy vocal technique in all types of singing.

He has performed with major ensembles including the Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists, Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Choral, North Dakota State Concert Choir, Concordia Chapel Choir, Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra Choir, and the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

He was a member of the 2007 National American Choral Directors Association Honors Choir. As a musical theater actor, he’s performed in Little Shop of Horrors (Lead), Once Upon a Mattress (Lead), Heidi Chronicles (Lead), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Supporting), You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Lead), Oliver (Chorus), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Chorus).

Grant holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota.
