MacPhail Music For Life™, Music Therapist

Josh Osborne joined MacPhail in 2012, teaching Bass (Electric), 
guitar (acoustic and electric) percussion/drum set, 
, songwriting
 ukulele, and 
voice. He strives to make all lessons fun and engaging, and has a behavioral and research-based approach to music therapy. He teaches adaptive lessons on guitar, piano, percussion, drum set, voice, and ukulele, and conducts music therapy sessions with children and adults with autism, developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries.

With 10 years teaching experience, he has previously taught at private music studios and 5 years of practicing music therapy at nursing homes, and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. He has played in many bands in the Midwest throughout his musical career and most recently was the lead guitarist in My Lady Four. Currently, he performs as a singer-songwriter and collaborate with artists in the Twin Cities area.

He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Therapy from Augsburg College and certificate from CSU in Neurologic Music Therapy. He also studied classical guitar for 15 years with Nick Raths and Wade Oden of the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet.
