Soojin Lee is a professional performer on the gayageum (a traditional Korean wooden zither instrument) from South Korea. As a Korean traditional musician and a general music educator, she has been actively involved in performing and teaching Korean traditional music in diverse settings both in Korea and the U.S.
Before coming to the United States, she worked for the National Korean traditional music high school as a gayageum teacher. Soojin has her Bachelor and Master degrees in Korean traditional music (specialized in gayageum performance) from Seoul National University, South Korea and Master degree in Social Sciences (specialized in Ethnomusicology) from University of California, Irvine. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in music education at the University of Minnesota.
