Trygstad, LindaViola, Violin
Linda Trygstad has been teaching violin and viola in the Suzuki program at MacPhail since 1998, but has more than 20 years of teaching experience. She enjoys teaching classical music to all ages of students, from three to adult. Although she demands excellence from her students, she is gentle and encouraging. She takes great pride in establishing a strong bond with her students and families, a bond that lasts from early childhood into adulthood.
Her performance career has taken her from Europe, where she performed as principal violist with the School Orchestras of the Americas, to the United States, where she has been assistant principal violist with the Catskill Symphony, and free lanced in upstate New York and in the Twin Cities area. Linda has also performed with the University of Minnesota Graduate String Quartet.
Linda has a Bachelor’s degree in viola and history from Indiana University, Suzuki pedagogy at the University of Minnesota, and has complete work towards a Master’s in viola from the University of Minnesota.
