Emily Shively joined MacPhail’s piano faculty for Group Instruction and Suzuki in 2019. Teaching piano since 2013 in her studio in the Northern Metro of Minneapolis, she enjoys seeing the “light bulb” moment in her students’ eyes when they grasp a new concept.
Emily understands the importance of music education in a child’s life and how it helps to develop other academic areas because learning piano requires discipline, attention to detail, hard work, listening, and natural learning by doing. She works with students of all ages.
She enjoys playing music for church, weddings, friends, family and students.
Emily is certified as a Suzuki Piano Teacher for Units 1 – 3 with the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
