Music Therapist

Stephanie Kimmes has taught flute, guitar (acoustic and electric), and piano in MacPhail’s music therapy program since 2012. She believes in the power of music to bring about therapeutic change to help individuals accomplish and generalize non-musical goals.

Stephanie earned her music therapy board certification in 2006. Ever since she has worked with children and adults with special needs. She plays flute, piano, percussion, and saxophone.

She earned certification as a Neurologic Music Therapist in the spring of 2013. She presented on “Music Therapy and Young Children on the Autism Spectrum” at a Wisconsin Early Childhood Association Conference in the fall of 2013.

She earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Morris, majoring in Music Education and is a licensed K-12 Minnesota Music Educator. Stephanie earned her Master’s in Music Education/Music Therapy from the University of Kansas.
