Music for 8 year olds
To give all children a great experience with music, it’s best to choose instruments that are age-appropriate for the size and development of their bodies. Piano, guitar, drums and many stringed instruments are perfect for children 5- 8 years old. Because brass and woodwind instruments are larger and require lung capacity, it is best to wait until your child is 9 years old. Your child needs to be able to hold the instrument, manipulate the keys and have adequate breath support. For voice, students may begin voice lessons as young as 10 years old, depending on their physical development. To avoid any damage to the developing voice, the child should have the ability to produce a strong airflow in order to avoid strain on the vocal cords. For younger children, SINGING FOR CHILDREN is a great option. For questions, contact us at 612-321-0100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
