Brent Platta

School Partnerships

Brent Platta has been teaching with the School Partnerships department at MacPhail since 2015.

His previous experiences in music education include teaching instrumental music with Eden Prairie Schools in Eden Prairie, MN and instrumental and general music for Stevens Point Area Public School District in Stevens Point, WI. Brent has also been deeply involved in the Very Young Composers Program, which focuses on the creation of original music by school-age children.

Brent’s teaching philosophy is to guide students of all ages in discovering personal fulfillment through knowledgeable, skilled, passionate, and reflective educatorship in music.

Brent is also involved in the musical groups The Blacksmith’s Daughters and the Rosemount Community Band.

Mr. Platta holds degrees of Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education, General Music Education, with a minor in Spanish from University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point and is pursuing his Master of Music degree in instrumental music education from North Dakota State University. He is also Orff-Schulwerk level 1 certified.

Favorite non-musical hobby: I love to play disc golf every chance I can!
