Eric Bell

Piano, Theory
Location: Chanhassen

Eric Bell has been playing piano most of his life (started age 7)! He pursued piano playing into higher education, where he received a degree in music at Gustavus. It was there that he was introduced to teaching piano, and continued teaching professionally after college, as teaching came naturally to him (over 20 years now!). He’s extended his own private piano instruction after Gustavus, studying a year with Dr. Paul Wirth and periodically with graduate of the Julliard School of Music, Stephen Joven-Lee. He recently began a piano trio (piano + violin and cello), Gamma Rise. Additionally, he has extensive experience with rocks bands, choirs, soloists, and featured solos. He enjoys staying active to avoid complacency as a teacher. Eric facilities two piano student recitals a year (optional) and has many students involved in Minnestoa Music Teachers Association contests/exams (optional).

Eric also has 9 years’ experience working with students on the Autism spectrum at Franklin Center in Golden Valley. He has no firm age minimums for young beginners, only prerequisite that they are confident in left/right hand, ABC’s and 123’s. Additionally, he just as much enjoys helping adults get started or get back it, emphasizing a strong foundation in music theory and technique along with growing as musician. Eric is a very relaxed and patient teacher that treats each student uniquely. His teaching style is persistent at building good habits to cultivate independent thinkers and performers!
