Unwrapping the Orchestra – Austin: #1, October 11

Join Jacob Crosby, MacPhail-Austin strings instructor and principal violist of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, as he unwraps the music from the first concert of the 2025-26 Season, “Heroes and Villains.” We will examine the music of well-known classics like Danny Elfman’s music from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Our heroic pieces include John Williams’ music for Superman, as well as Elmer Bernstein’s Theme from The Magnificent Seven. Finally, we’ll explore a piano concerto from a real musical giant, Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor. You won’t want to miss this engaging musical experience.
