Jorge Luis Pacheco Jazz Piano Masterclass
Jorge Luis Pacheco is a leading pianist from the new generation of jazz in Cuba. His music melds Cuban jazz, Cuban and Afro Cuban music, American jazz, and classical music, with a measure of contemporary pop and soul to keep things up to date. He has collaborated with the likes of Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Arturo O’Farrill, the legendary Lenny White, Dave Weckl, and Richie Goods. He is also a composer, having earned a Master in Composition from the Instituto Superior de Arte de La Habana. He has performed all over the world in clubs and jazz festivals, from Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York—the jazz capital of the world; the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.; the Apollo Theater in Harlem to the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel; among others. Pacheco has also received numerous international awards.
His new musical production, “The Lockdown Album” released in 2022 by Ropeadope, is a beautiful presentation of his talent and style, with a modern Cuban flavor that defines the current and future iteration of Cuban style.
