Blanc, Beatrice

Beatrice Blanc joined the MacPhail faculty for Suzuki violin in 1996. Her teaching follows the Suzuki philosophy, every child can. So can every parent! When we are surrounded by motivating examples and encouraging reinforcement, the Suzuki motto holds that “Where there is love, much can be accomplished.”

In addition to year-round lessons and groups at MacPhail, Beatrice has taught at summer institutes in Canada, D.C., Colorado, and SoCal, as well as weekend workshops. She has soloed with local community orchestras, been interviewed on Minnesota Public Radio, and has presented at conferences and workshops. She was a long-standing board member of the Minnesota Suzuki Association, and has held numerous committee and service positions within MacPhail and the regional and national Suzuki community. Beatrice served on the staff of the Colorado Suzuki Institute as Artistic Director of the Chamber Music of the Rockies, after four years on faculty of the Colorado Suzuki Institute. Beatrice now serves the Los Angeles Suzuki Institute as Coordinator of the LASI Chamber Music Workshop.

She holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Music in Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Minnesota.
