Janet Holdorf has taught piano on MacPhail’s faculty since 2002. She teaches all ages and levels, helping each student progress from the level achieved so far. She enjoys starting students from the very beginning, moving through to most advanced repertoire.
Previously, Janet taught at Robert Schumann Hochschule fuer Musik Duesseldorf, Carthage College,
Univ. of Illinois—Champaign, and at private studios in Germany. She has performed in numerous concerto and chamber music concerts throughout Europe, and with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, and the Cobb Civic Orchestra. She was a Fulbright Scholar to Cologne, Germany, in Piano and Vocal Accompaniment.
Janet holds her Performance Diploma in Vocal Accompaniment from Staatliche Hochschule fuer Musik Koeln in Germany; and a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music in Piano, both from the University of Illinois.
