Seulgee Lee

Piano

Seulgee Lee has taught piano in MacPhail’s Individual Instruction program since 2018. She holds 15 years’ experience teaching piano and music theory to students ages 5 to adult.

Seulgee estimates the level of students and helps them achieve their goal as a musician regardless of whether they want to do music professionally or not. Her primary goal for her students is helping them enjoy music.

Her notable performances include the Classical Minnesota Public Radio (99.5Mhz) Regional Spotlight in 2017 and 2018 for ‘Dash’ by Jennifer Higdon for flute, saxophone, and piano; ‘Los Que Vendra’ by Astor Piazolla (arranged by Alison Young); performing ‘Like an Argentine Dancer’ in St. Paul’s The Baroque Room in 2018, a trio chamber recital for flute, saxophone, and piano; and ‘An Elegant Dialogue: Basso Continuo & Strings’ also in The Baroque Room in 2018, a Baroque chamber music concert for basso continuo, baroque violin, traverse, and violin.

She completed her Bachelors of Music in Composition and Theory at Dankook University in South Korea, and holds her Masters of Music in Piano Performance and her Doctorate of Musical Art in Collaborative Piano and Coaching from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities.
